Katie + John | Metropolitain Brasserie wedding | Ottawa Gatineau Photographer

Katie reached out to me following a referral from her cousin who happens to be a high school friend (thank you Sonia! :) ). Katie and John said 'I do' last October when the Fall leaves were at their peak. I met up with the bride at the Château Laurier before walking over to the Metropolitain Brasserie in downtown Ottawa which was the venue for their ceremony. It was an intimate setting with Katie and John surrounded by close family and friends. Family is so important to the couple and they wanted to honour this by focusing on those closest to them, including Katie's grandmothers. Following the ceremony, we had a quick session with the couple at Major's Hill Park.

Katie and John were lots of fun to work with, easy going with lots of laughter to go around. They really let us do our thing and capture candid moments, interactions and details. Karine was working with me that day and, while we were only shooting for the couple for 2 hours, together, we were able to get a variety of perspectives and key moments. Here's proof that you don't necessarily need to have a photographer for a full day to capture what matters most. Short and sweet is just as beautiful and meaningful!
